I’m so excited to share this with you - Making Happy Things is almost here! And to help send it out into the world, I’m hosting a series of colourful, joy-filled events around Brisbane / Meanjin throughout August.
There’ll be chats, craft, connection, and cake (probably). If you’re local, I’d love for you to come along!

💛 Here’s what’s happening:
📕 Sun 3 August – Stitch & Chat at Avid Reader (@avidreader)
An afternoon of creativity and conversation in one of my favourite bookshops. It’ll be relaxed, friendly, and perfect for makers of all kinds.
Book your spot here
📕 Sat 9 August – Making Happy Things Launch Party! at Vacant Assembly (@vacant_assembly)
It’s a party! Expect a joyful celebration. RSVP Here!
📕 Tue 12 August – In Conversation with Laura Jackson (Peppermint Magazine Sewing Manager) at Harry Hartog Carindale (@harryhartog.carindale)
We'll talk Making Happy Things and the power of handmade. RSVP Here!
📕 Fridays in August – Open Studio + Workshops at Artisan Queensland (@artisanqld)
I’ll be working from the Artisan studio each Friday in August - come say hi, make a patch with me, or join one of the special workshops I’ll be hosting.
Dates: August 8, 15, 22, 29
Time: 10am - 3pm
Where: Artisan, 45 King St, Bowen Hills
You’re welcome to come to one, or all of them - I can't wait to make space to celebrate creativity and connection with you.
And if you’re not local, don’t worry! I’m cooking up a few ways to celebrate online too. Stay tuned.
And finally, if you haven’t preordered your copy of Making Happy Things yet, I’d be so grateful if you did. Preorders help small authors (like me!) so much.

Thank you so much for being here. I can’t wait to celebrate together.
